Long pants and/on gaiters are recommended for the scrub and cheat grass. Your feet may also get wet, so consider bringing dry shoes and socks to change into.
Weather & Terrain
Jordan River Rotary Park spans 9.5 acres offering a mostly flat and open landscape that is perfect for families, though off-trail explorers should watch for uneven ground and thick patches of cheatgrass that can get stuck in socks and shoes. While the areas away from the water are easy to move through, the river’s edge is much thicker with tall reeds and thorny bushes that can hide the view of your next checkpoint. It is a great spot for a recreational outing with well-maintained paved and dirt paths, just be prepared moving off-trail for some bumpy footing and the occasional prickly shrub near the bank!
Long pants are recommended for going offtrail.
Shoes with good off-road traction are recommended. Some hills are steep and can be slippery with standard road running shoes.

Join us for an exciting orienteering adventure in the Kaysville Wilderness Park!
The entire event will be a Score-O format folks!
Course
Score-O with 25 controls
SportIdent electronic punching will be used. Beginner instruction available at registration.
Long pants and shirts are recommended. Your feet will probably get wet, so consider bringing dry shoes and socks to change into.
Weather & Terrain
East Mountain Wilderness Park is a 140-acre natural area in the foothills of Kaysville, Utah, featuring rocky terrain, scrub oak forests, and 1.7 miles of popular hiking/biking trails. The trail system is extensive, and is usually the best route choice between controls. With the warmer weather, you could see more wildlife, including rattlesnakes.
The surrounding areas were part of the early settlement of Kaysville (incorporated 1868), with nearby land used for homesteading by the Harvey family in the late 19th century. Established to preserve open space in the hills, it includes campgrounds named after former mayors and offers scenic views of the Wasatch Mountains — a fun and challenging map for all skill levels.
Long pants are recommended for going offtrail.
Shoes with good off-road traction are recommended. Some hills are steep and can be slippery with standard road running shoes.

Bathroom at the trailhead parking lot should be open.
